30+ Years Maximizing Land's Community Potential
Since taking my first job at The Nature Conservancy in 1989, I've been working to build and maintain healthy environments and communities. As Director of Conservation at TNC, Executive Director of Trust for Public Land in Oregon and Director of Community Partnerships at Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, I led nonprofit board and staff teams and collaborated with leaders in business and industry, governments, nonprofit organizations, and community representatives to achieve community-enhancing land objectives. My work has resulted in protection for rare and endangered plants and animals; completion of landscape level conservation agendas; and in fairness and equity for communities through parks, recreation, and wildland initiatives. As an independent consultant, I partner with organizations, agencies, businesses, families and individuals to develop practical approaches to organizing and delivering high impact land conservation and community improvement projects. I work to identify a client's current position and desires, inform sound decision making and organize useful action to achieve objectives. Property is the foundation upon which conservation is built. I help organizations navigate the intricacies of acquiring, selling or developing land to maximize its community potential.
A resident of Portland since 1996 (with roots in Baker), my life is driven by three core principles: family, meaningful work and fly fishing. If the stars align, perhaps we can one day work together…or at least wet a line!
